The pre-letting of Voysey House to Sanderson marked a meaningful homecoming for this exceptional Grade II* listed building. Sanderson had originally developed, owned and occupied the property between 1902 and 1928, and we were proud to welcome them back nearly a century later.
As the only commercial building ever designed by CFA Voysey, a leading figure of the Arts and Crafts movement, the restoration demanded a meticulous and respectful approach. Every element was carefully assessed, from individual bricks to original finishes. The distinctive, white-glazed façade was refurbished, timber floors restored, original window designs reinstated and both terraces enlarged.
Alongside this heritage-led restoration, the building was comprehensively upgraded for modern performance. Voysey House was converted to an all-electric building, with energy efficiency dramatically improved through the installation of state-of-the-art Fineo double glazing. Working in close collaboration with dMFK Architects, we preserved the building’s architectural integrity while delivering a highly sustainable, characterful workplace precisely tailored to Sanderson’s vision.
